French national team defender Ibrahima Konate acknowledged that Spain has quality after their impressive performance throughout the 2026 World Cup, but he emphasized that Les Bleus are not afraid ahead of the two teams' semifinal meeting at AT&T Stadium.
You can't be afraid of anyone. Now we'll prepare as best we can and hope the final result will be in our favor.
Konate's statement came after Spanish youngster Lamine Yamal had earlier stated that La Furia Roja were not afraid of facing France.
"We've beaten France in our last two matches. If France should be afraid of one team, it's us. We'll see what happens, but we're not afraid," Yamal said.
Spain comes into this tournament with a very confident record. Luis de la Fuente's team is unbeaten in 36 consecutive matches and has conceded only one goal in six matches at the 2026 World Cup. Furthermore, La Furia Roja has also won their last two meetings with France.
