The Indonesian National Armed Forces' Habema Operations Command has taken control of a traditional Papuan house suspected of being used as a headquarters for the armed group the Free Papua Movement in Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua.
In a press release received in Jakarta, Friday, it was explained that the control of the traditional house was carried out when TNI personnel carried out an operation around Abundoga Village, Intan Jaya Regency.
Head of Information for Koops Habema, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. M. Wirya Arthadiguna, said the seizure of the traditional house began with information about a planned attack by the armed group OPM.
Based on this information, TNI personnel searched the location suspected to be the headquarters of the OPM armed group.
"After going through a thorough reconnaissance, verification, and planning process, troops moved to the location to secure the target while prioritizing public safety," Wirya said.
