Marc Marquez overcomes pressure to win Sachsenring sprint race

Ducati Lenovo racer Marc Marquez managed to overcome the pressure that came in the final laps to win the German MotoGP sprint race at the Sachsenring Circuit, Saxony, Germany, Saturday.

Marquez pocketed a full 12 points after completing the 15-lap sprint race with a time of 20 minutes 12.978 seconds, narrowly ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini) who finished in second place.

Fabio Di Giannantonio  completed the podium by finishing third after finishing the sprint 0.813 seconds behind Marc Marquez.

The sprint race result means Marquez now has 165 points in fifth place in the riders' standings, cutting the gap to just 32 points from current leader Jorge Martin  with 197 points.
