Meta releases Muse Image's image-making AI model

Meta released a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based image-making model called Muse Image, developed by the company's AI division, Meta Superintelligence Labs.

Technology  that the feature, codenamed "Mango," can be accessed for free via the Meta AI app, WhatsApp, and Instagram Stories.

According to Meta, Muse Image allows users to create various images based on text commands  like other image-making AI models.

The company also said that Muse Image comes with " presets ," ready-to-use prompts to help "spark ideas" for users who are short on inspiration and don't have any original ideas of their own.

However, the feature was highlighted because it allows users to use photos from public Instagram accounts to recreate them into AI images.

Users only need to tag the account in question, then the system can use photos from that account as the basis for creating a new image.

Instagram users will not be notified when their photos are used by others to create AI content.

However, Meta states that users have control over the feature. Privacy settings allow users to disable content takeover for AI content creation purposes.
