Monaco authorities: Identity of suspect in Yermolayev assassination attempt in Monaco

French radio station RTL reported that investigators have identified the suspect in the attempted assassination of Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yermolayev in Monaco.

The radio station quoted the Monaco prosecutor's office as saying that "an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, and an Interpol red notice will be issued against him this Thursday evening."

The radio station also reported that a judicial investigation had been opened into charges of attempted murder, planting an explosive device in a public place with criminal intent, and conspiracy.

The newspaper “Le Figaro” reported last Tuesday that a Ukrainian businessman, his wife and child may have been injured as a result of the powerful explosion that occurred in Monaco. According to the Ukrainian portal “Novosti.Life”, the matter concerns the family of businessman Vadim Yermolayev.

This information was also confirmed by the television channel "BFM TV", which stated that among those injured in the explosion were citizens of Russia and Ukraine, although the Monaco police have not yet officially confirmed their nationalities.

The powerful explosion occurred in the emirate last night, and according to initial information, surveillance cameras spotted a person leaving a backpack at the main door at the moment when other people were entering through it.

Minister of State Christophe Mirmans suggested that this was the first terrorist attack in Monaco's history.
