Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova created an all-Czech final at Wimbledon 2026 after both won their semifinal matches on Centre Court.
Muchova secured her place in the final after coming back to save a match point to defeat second seed Coco Gauff from the United States 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(10), while Noskova advanced to the final after defeating 12th seed Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4.
"This is a very special moment. It's an incredible achievement. Wimbledon is one of the biggest tournaments with a long history and so many legends have played here. I'm very happy to reach the final again," Muchova said, as quoted by the WTA.
Muchova had to fight hard to secure victory over Gauff. After both players had won a set each, the deciding set was a tight affair with neither player breaking serve, forcing the match to be decided by a tiebreak .
The 29-year-old led 6-3 in the tiebreak . However, Gauff rallied, winning six of the next eight points to take a 9-8 lead and earn match point .
Muchova was able to thwart those chances before winning the final three points to secure her place in the final.
"I just kept telling myself to keep attacking. Even if I lose, I want to lose at my own game, which is to play aggressively and move forward," Muchova said.
