Iranian authorities announced that areas in the provinces of Bushehr and Hormozgan were subjected to American strikes targeting bridges and facilities on main roads, with no casualties reported so far.
Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozaffari told the IRNA news agency that an area on the outskirts of the city of Chaghadak in Bushehr province was attacked by the United States, noting that several explosions were heard in the vicinity of the city during the early hours of Saturday morning.
He explained that the attack did not result in any deaths or injuries, noting that the competent authorities are continuing to investigate the dimensions of the strike, and calling on citizens to follow war news through official sources and avoid spreading rumors.
In Hormozgan province, the governorate announced that US forces continued their attacks, targeting three bridges and a tunnel on a number of vital axes.
Local authorities reported that the raids targeted the Shor River Bridge on the road linking Bandar Abbas and Sirjan, as well as the bridge on the Minab-Rudan axis after the Sarzeh intersection. The Shahid Mirzaei Tunnel on the road linking Bandar Abbas and Hajiabad was also attacked, leading to its closure in both directions.
Hormozgan province urged citizens to avoid using these roads until further notice, stressing that work is underway to open alternative routes and create bypasses to ensure the continuation of traffic.
These strikes come amid continued military escalation between the United States and Iran, and the widening scope of US attacks targeting infrastructure and transportation in a number of Iranian provinces, while Iranian authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage and take precautionary measures to limit the impact of the attacks on civilian movement.
