Media personality Mona Abdel Karim, aunt of Egyptian international player Hamza Abdel Karim, announced the date the young striker will join the Barcelona first football team's training camp.
Barcelona had announced the permanent signing of Hamza Abdel Karim and decided to activate the purchase clause from Al Ahly club.
Previous reports indicated that FC Barcelona would begin its preparations for the upcoming 2026/2027 season on Monday, July 13th.
Mona Abdel Karim, the aunt of the Egyptian national team striker, wrote on his Facebook account: “Praise be to God and thanks be to God, Hamza Abdel Karim will head tomorrow, God willing, to Barcelona to join the first team’s training camp for the new season, which starts on July 13.”
She added: "After the club gave him the choice between taking a few days off after participating in the World Cup or joining on time."
The Egyptian striker participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup, and played four matches during the Pharaohs' journey, which ended in the round of 16 with a loss to Argentina.
Coach Hossam Hassan gave the young player the opportunity to participate in most of the tournament's matches, with an average of approximately 14 minutes per match.
