OJK Chairman: S&P rating signals Indonesia's economy and financial system are secure

 






  The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority , Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said that the decision by S&P Global Ratings is a positive signal that Indonesia's economic fundamentals and financial system stability are maintained in the face of global dynamics.

The Financial Services Authority  welcomes S&P Global Ratings' decision to maintain Indonesia's Sovereign Credit Rating at BBB with a Stable outlook .

"S&P's decision to maintain Indonesia's credit rating with a stable outlook demonstrates that Indonesia's economic fundamentals remain sound amidst global uncertainty. This assessment also encourages us to continue strengthening the performance of the financial services sector and pursue reforms to support national economic growth," Friderica said in an official statement.

In its report, S&P assessed that Indonesia's economic fundamentals remain supported by strong domestic demand, prudent fiscal policy , and a credible and flexible policy framework to maintain macroeconomic stability.

In line with this, the OJK will continue to implement various efforts to strengthen the financial services sector by strengthening integrated risk-based supervision, deepening financial markets, and improving market integrity and governance.
