On Wednesday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, continued to receive leaders and officials who came to Doha to offer their condolences on the death of his father , the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on the third day of mourning.

At Lusail Palace, Emir Tamim received a number of mourners, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, who, along with their delegations, offered their condolences on the death of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

He also received the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Adilbek Kassym-Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of France, Sebastien Lecornu, who, along with their delegations, offered their condolences on the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Prince Tamim also received Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, who offered his condolences on the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

He also received, separately, Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Eduardo Martinez, Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Sulayman Zoyozadeh, and Nepalese Deputy President Ramsahai Prasad Yadav, who, along with their delegations, offered their condolences on the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The Emir of Qatar received, at Lusail Palace, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, who offered condolences on the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Prince Tamim also received more mourners, including sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries, senior officials, and crowds of citizens.

On Sunday, Qatar laid to rest the body of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at Lusail Cemetery, with the participation of the country’s Emir, members of the ruling family, and senior officials.

On the same day, the Amiri Diwan announced the death of the former Emir at the age of 74, and declared a period of national mourning for four days starting on Sunday.

It was also announced that work would be suspended in ministries, government agencies, public bodies and institutions starting Monday, with employees resuming their work on Sunday, July 19, with flags being flown at half-mast throughout the mourning period.

The Amiri Diwan explained in a statement that Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will receive condolences from heads of state, members of the ruling family, dignitaries and citizens at Lusail Palace on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, during the morning period from 8:00 to 11:30 local time (05:00 to 08:30 GMT), and during the evening period from after Asr prayer until Isha prayer.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani assumed power in 1995, before handing over the reins of power to his then Crown Prince, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on June 25, 2013.

Qatar received condolences from countries around the world, including Arab and Islamic nations, while several countries declared mourning and lowered their flags to half-mast.
