PBSI focuses on fixing shortcomings to face the World Junior Championships

The Indonesian Badminton Association  is focused on addressing shortcomings ahead of the 2026 World Junior Championships  to improve performance compared to the previous edition, said Eskar Denatara, the Indonesian Team Manager for the championship.

"When facing Korea in the group stage, the boys were able to capitalize on the momentum and secure victory," Eskar said in a PBSI statement on Tuesday.

"On the other hand, when we played against Malaysia and Thailand, we lost several important points at crucial moments," said Eskar.

Eskar assessed that the Indonesian team is still technically, physically, and mentally capable, but there is homework to be done in terms of tactics, composure, and experience at the international level.

In the individual event, the Red and White team placed seven representatives in the quarter-finals, where the men's singles team contributed the best result through Fardhan Joe who won a silver medal, improving from bronze in the previous edition.
