Pedro Porro says his first goal for Spain was very special

Spanish national team player Pedro Porro said his first goal for La Furia Roja was very special because it came at the World Cup, which also took his country to the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

A Porro header gave Spain a 3-0 victory over Austria in the round of 32 at the Los Angeles Stadium in the United States on Friday, with Mikel Oyarzabal also scoring the other goal.

"That goal was beautiful because it was my first goal for the national team. I was also very happy because the team won. Even now, I can't stop enjoying it," Porro said, as quoted on the official FIFA website on Friday.

Before scoring his first goal, Porro's best contribution was providing two assists in his country's two UEFA Nations League wins.

Now, his goal at the 2026 World Cup means he has one goal and two assists in 20 appearances for Spain since his debut in March 2021.
