The Central Executive Board of the All Indonesia Basketball Association (DPP Perbasi) has decided to replace the previous head coach of the U18 women's national team, Amin Prihantono, with Fredy.
The Indonesian U18 National Basketball Team's manager, Fictor Roring, explained that the changes were part of preparations for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Division B in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 13-19.
"The change won't disrupt preparations because Fredy has been involved in the process since the initial selection process, so the training program will continue as planned, so the players won't have to adapt to the new system," he said.
Fictor said Amin was unable to accompany the team to face the tournament, so the federation decided to replace him with Fredy, who is the assistant coach on the national team.
He stated that the change in head coach did not change the direction of the training program because both coaches had used the same approach and playing system since the team's formation process.
Perbasi also added a female coach, Jenny from North Sumatra, to help prepare the U18 women's national team.
