The National News Agency   signed a memorandum of understanding  to strengthen Indonesia's communications ecosystem through collaboration in capacity building, media literacy, information dissemination, and strengthening the role of public relations in the regions.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria witnessed the signing of the MoU, which was held at the Kick Off event of the 2026 Indonesian Public Relations Convention.

"I hope this MoU is not just a formality, but also a shared commitment or an example for all of us to strengthen Indonesia's communications ecosystem," said ANTARA's President Director, Benny Siga Butarbutar.

According to him,  will be realized in the form of programs to improve the competence of public relations personnel, organize educational forums, improve media literacy, develop crisis communications, and collaborate on publications that will benefit the community.

Benny conveyed the importance of cooperation between professional organizations and the mass media in an effort to present quality information that can build optimism and strengthen national unity.

"Collaboration between professional organizations and national media is crucial to ensure the public space is filled with quality information, builds optimism, and strengthens national unity," he said.

Benny also stated that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) brings new challenges for public relations and journalists.

According to him, AI can be used as a professional tool, but consideration and decision-making must still be in human hands.
