Persija Jakarta will not be fielding its Elite Pro Academy U20 (EPA U20) squad in the 2026 President's Cup after deciding to field its main squad.
This decision was made by the team nicknamed the Kemayoran Tigers after they adjusted the training camp (TC) schedule in Thailand, which is now scheduled to start on August 10 from the original departure schedule of July 27.
"This decision was made after the coaching team and management evaluated and coordinated the team's preparation needs. One of these concerns squad completeness. Persija believes the squad needs to fully assemble in Jakarta before undergoing the training camp program in Thailand," read an official statement from Persija on Monday.
This schedule adjustment also provides the coaching team with an opportunity to more comprehensively assess the development of all players, including integrating new players into the game plan being prepared for the 2026/2027 season.
