The Indonesian National Police arrested nine drug crime suspects who also committed the murder of three members of the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit, Central Kalimantan, during a raid on a narcotics dealer in Tumbang Kalemei Village.
The Director of Narcotics Crimes of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, in his statement in Jakarta on Saturday, said that the arrests of the suspects were carried out in an operation carried out by a joint team from the Narcotics Directorate and the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, the Katingan Police, Sub-Directorate IV of the Narcotics Directorate of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, the NIC Task Force, the East Kalimantan Regional Police and the Samarinda Police.
According to Eko, the suspects were arrested in six different locations in Central and East Kalimantan. The arrests were made during an operation that took place from Friday (July 3) to Wednesday (July 8).
"The nine suspects have the initials SD alias AT, DN alias DEA, IMP alias RB, NM, ARS alias YD and ML, BO, RL, BS, and PR," said Eko.
The one-star police general explained that the suspects played different roles in this case. For example, suspect SD was responsible for carrying a homemade firearm and shooting at officers, while also provoking residents.
