Qatar on Thursday denied Israeli media reports claiming it had agreed to participate in military action against Iran, stressing that it has not and will not participate in any military action against neighboring countries.
The Qatari International Media Office (a government agency) said in a statement, “The State of Qatar expresses its categorical rejection of the false reports published by Israeli media outlets, which claimed that Qatar agreed to participate in a military action against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The office added that these allegations are being promoted by “individuals seeking to drag the State of Qatar into the conflict, undermine its pivotal role in mediation, and push the region towards further escalation and chaos.”
He stressed that Qatari officials have repeatedly emphasized, since the outbreak of the conflict, that Qatar “has not and will not participate in any military action against any of the neighboring countries.”
The office stressed that Doha will not allow what it described as “misleading claims” to undermine its diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
He noted that Qatar will continue its efforts, in coordination with its regional and international partners, to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties involved.
