Radithya aims for the title after returning to the Jaya Raya Junior GP final

Indonesian men's singles player Radithya Bayu Wardhana is aiming for the Yonex-Sunrise Jaya Raya Junior International Grand Prix 2026 title after securing a place in the U-19 final.

Radithya advanced to the final after defeating compatriot Maharishiel Timotius Gain in two straight games 21-18, 21-8 in the semifinals at the PB Jaya Raya Sports Hall, South Tangerang, Saturday.

"This is my second final in the Jaya Raya Junior Championships. In 2022, I was a finalist, and this year I want to win," Radithya said in an official PBSI statement after the match.

Radithya struggled to find his playing style at the start of the match. However, he showed more patience in the second game, dominating the match and securing victory.

"In today's game, I wasn't yet in the game and was still experimenting. In the second game, I played more patiently and didn't go all out immediately," he said.

According to Radithya, meeting Maharishiel was nothing new, as the two had faced each other several times. He also claimed to have a better win record than his opponent.

In the final, Radithya will face Malaysia's Boon Le Lim. This match will be Radithya's chance to avenge their last meeting at the 2025 German Junior Championships, where he lost 21-14, 17-21, and 18-21.

"Tomorrow I'll face Boon Le Lim from Malaysia. I lost our last match at the 2025 German Junior Championships. I need to improve my focus in tomorrow's match," said Radithya.
