Competition is heating up in the summer transfer market as doubts grow about the future of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior with his club Real Madrid, given the continued stumbling of negotiations to renew his contract.
Vinicius' future with Real Madrid is uncertain, as his contract with Los Blancos expires at the end of next season and no agreement has yet been reached on signing a new contract.
Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez of Radio Marca stated that Real Madrid's management will resume talks with Vinicius regarding the possibility of renewing his contract after the end of the 2026 World Cup.
He added that Liverpool could become a contender to sign Vinicius Junior during the current summer transfer window, coinciding with the possibility of the British billionaire of Indian origin, former Queens Park Rangers co-owner and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, acquiring a stake in the English club.
There is currently a stalemate in the negotiations to renew Vinicius' contract with Real Madrid, due to the player's demands for a salary that the Royal Club is unwilling to meet.
It is also possible that Vinicius will leave Real Madrid for free, therefore the player may leave the Spanish club at the beginning of next year and not during the current summer transfer window.
During his 8-year career with the club, Vinicius won numerous titles, including two Champions League titles, having scored in the 2022 and 2024 finals, and three La Liga titles.
