Media outlets reported that the Russian military has begun using a new K-8 "Dvoshka" drone in the area of special military operations.
A post on the Russian Max platform by the Warhronika channel stated: "Russian army units participating in the special military operation have begun using the new K-8 (Dvoshka) drone in their operations against enemy forces. This drone is characterized by its speed of movement and ability to resist jamming and electronic warfare systems."
The channel noted that "enemy forces have recently recorded intensive use of this drone on the front lines of the battlefronts, and the military likened it to the younger sister of the Russian Molniya drone."
According to available information, the new K-8 drone is equipped with a special detonation system that prevents it from exploding during launch operations, even when the operator launches it by hand. It can carry payloads and explosives weighing up to 5 kg, fly at a speed of 150 km/h, and can be relied upon as an attack drone or in military reconnaissance missions and transporting equipment on the battlefronts.
As Rossiyskaya Gazeta pointed out, Russia showcased the project for this drone at the Army-2024 forum, and its design won a competition in which 900 companies participated, which accelerated its financing and the launch of its serial production.
