On July 1, the city of St. Petersburg witnessed the launching ceremony of a large fishing vessel of Project "ST-192" into the sea. The vessel is named "Captain Ipatov" and is also used as a refrigerator and fish processing station.
After the completion of work on the final outfitting dock and passing sea trials, this vessel will operate in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea in the Far East of Russia.
The Admiral Shipyard, the manufacturer of the fishing vessel, reported that this is the seventh vessel built under the government's investment quota program. The first four vessels have already begun fishing in the Far East and have proven their capabilities as leading fishing and processing vessels. The fifth vessel, the Kaptan Yunak, is currently undergoing fishing trials.
Before the end of this year, the company will launch another ship from this family named "Alexander Buzakov".
The ST-192 class of large commercial fishing vessels is specifically designed for pollock and herring fishing, with onboard processing and storage capabilities. Each vessel has a production capacity exceeding 60,000 tons of pollock annually.
