The 2026 National Mountain Bike Championship, which will feature 180 athletes from 16 provinces, will be a platform for scouting the best talent to strengthen Indonesia's cycling achievements in Asia and the world.
The General Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Cycling Federation Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that the National MTB Championship is a strategic agenda in fostering national achievements.
The 2026 National MTB Championships will take place from July 16-19, featuring cross-country events in the Sentul City area and downhill events at the Gunung Pancar Nature Tourism Park.
Listyo hopes that all athletes will demonstrate their best abilities while upholding sportsmanship, discipline, and adhering to the competition rules.
"This year, 180 athletes from 16 provinces will compete to showcase their best abilities. Treat victory as an achievement, and defeat as motivation to continue improving," he said.
Apart from being a competitive arena for the national championship title, the championship is expected to be a means of evaluating the coaching programs run by ICF provincial administrators throughout Indonesia.
Championship results can also be a reference in monitoring the development of athletes who are projected to participate in various international championships.
Listyo also asked the committee, match officials, and all stakeholders to maintain professionalism so that the championship runs safely, orderly, and smoothly.
According to him, holding the National MTB Championship can also have an impact on Bogor Regency through the development of sports and sports tourism .
