The Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian People's Organization has begun preparing its members to participate in the 2029 General Election through various political parties after deciding to leave the Labor Party.
Secretary General of the DPP ORI, Ferri Nuzarli, in Gunungkidul, Saturday, said the decision to leave the Labor Party was taken because ORI considered that they no longer shared the same direction of struggle.
"ORI has begun to improve its management structure across all provinces, districts/cities, and down to the sub-district level," he said.
In addition to consolidating the organization, ORI has also begun implementing a political agenda ahead of the 2029 General Election by preparing cadres who wish to run for legislative office or regional head positions through various political parties.
"We are currently distributing forms to ORI cadres who wish to become legislative or executive candidates through their chosen political party," he said.
According to Ferri, after no longer being a wing organization of the Labor Party, ORI has temporarily chosen not to form a new political party.
