The government is currently in the final stages of drafting regulations for digital goods delivery services, both for goods and food, and these regulations will differ from those for online transportation services.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said the regulations would be made differently because the two types of services have different business and operational characteristics.
"People delivery and goods delivery have different business characteristics. Therefore, their derivative regulations must also be formulated differently to ensure certainty while not hindering innovation in the industry," said Deputy Minister Nezar Patria in a statement confirmed.
This was also conveyed by Nezar to one of the electronic system providers that provides both services, namely Grab Indonesia, during an audience at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Office.
