  The Ministry of Communication and Digital  continues to invite discussions from various industry stakeholders regarding the development of copyright governance in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Recently, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi) Nezar Patria received an audience to hear input from the digital platform Google discussing the protection of journalistic works, the use of AI, and various cooperation options between digital platforms and media companies.

"We will facilitate discussions with all stakeholders to explore the best options. The needs of each sector must be examined specifically, as their characteristics differ and cannot be compared," Nezar said in a statement confirmed.

Nezar said the government is currently monitoring the impact of AI developments on the sustainability of the media industry, including reports from media companies regarding declining reader traffic, which has impacted media revenue.
