Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said a new pattern of spreading radicalism in the digital space has now emerged in a new form, with a recruitment method that promises assistance to build the victim's trust.
He explained that the spread of radicalism is no longer through calls for hatred or violence, but rather through seemingly benign approaches, such as offering assistance, building rapport, and offering hope for a better life. Once trust is established, victims are gradually led towards extremist ideologies.
"The violence begins with a helping hand, medical assistance, debt repayment, personal assistance, and promises of welfare. Once trust is established, they are led to extreme ideologies," Meutya said.
