Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait said he is currently drafting a Housing Law to expedite the handling of the backlog by strengthening data, financing, land, and synergy across ministries.
Maruarar Sirait, familiarly known as Ara, said the regulation was discussed with the Chairman of the National Economic Council , Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who provided various inputs based on his experience in handling various strategic government policies over the years.
"I also mentioned earlier in the discussion that we are currently drafting the Housing Law. There was a lot of good input because Mr. Luhut has extensive experience in government, having served as Coordinating Minister, Presidential Staff and Chief of Staff, and so on, as well as being a Minister," Ara said after a limited meeting with DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan..
Ara said the government will meet again next week to formulate synchronized housing policies so that all aspects of housing development can be integrated and mutually supportive.
"So, we'll meet again next week to formulate a plan for how to synchronize housing issues related to the entire housing ecosystem," he said.
The Ministry of PKP will also integrate aspects of land provision, financing, databases, and other supporting policies into a single ecosystem to accelerate the provision of housing for the community.
"So there's land, there's financing, there's data, and so on, all in one unit," he said.
The drafting of the Housing Law will serve as a foundation for accelerating the handling of the housing backlog by strengthening the national housing ecosystem.
