 The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries  is providing managerial training to 5,153 prospective managers of the Red and White Fishermen's Village  as an effort to prepare human resources  who will manage the coastal economic area professionally.

Head of the Marine and Fisheries Human Resources Extension and Development Agency (BPPSDM KP) I Nyoman Radiarta in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday, said the training took place from July 17-29, 2026 simultaneously at 10 TNI educational.
According to Nyoman, the training is a strategic step to ensure that KNMP management is productive, professional, and sustainable.

He explained that KNMP not only focuses on infrastructure development, but is also designed as a coastal economic center equipped with various fisheries business facilities, ranging from ice factories, cold storage, culinary centers, ship repair shops, to supply kiosks.

Therefore, Nyoman continued, the success of the program is not only measured by the availability of facilities, but also the ability of managers to create productive economic activities, open up employment opportunities, and improve the welfare of fishing communities.

"This training demonstrates the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries' commitment to preparing professional managers who are capable of working collaboratively and are ready to assist the community so that KNMP truly grows as a new economic center in the coastal area," he said.

In this training, participants are prepared to fill four main positions, namely operational manager, head of production, quality assurance, and financial administration.

They will receive general competency materials, technical materials according to their field of work, leadership strengthening, and the ability to work with the community.

Before the national training began, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries had also prepared 573 trainers through the Training of Trainers and Microteaching program which was held on July 6-10, 2026 in Makassar, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bogor.
