The Ministry of Health said in its daily statistical statement: “The sector’s hospitals received 10 martyrs and 42 wounded during the past twenty-four hours,” noting that the number of victims of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement has risen to 1,168 martyrs and 3,798 wounded since it came into effect.
The ministry confirmed that a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them due to the continued bombing and the dangerous field conditions.
In Gaza City, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced the recovery of the bodies of five members of one family following a bombing that targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Samar area. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital later reported the death of the father, who succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll to six: the couple Firas Ahmed Al-Masri, his wife Salsabeel Muhammad Al-Masri, and their four children: Naeem, Ferial, Salma, and Amira.
The medical source explained that the family members' bodies arrived at the hospital charred, and confirmed that the family had been "completely erased from the Palestinian civil registry." The Civil Defense Directorate also announced that its crews had managed to extinguish a large fire that broke out in the targeted house as a result of the airstrike.
In another development on the ground, the Israeli occupation army's artillery shelled the southeastern areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, coinciding with heavy gunfire from military vehicles stationed around the area.
In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli military vehicles, including tanks and a military bulldozer, advanced into the Abu Gharaba area, east of Deir al-Balah city, for a distance of approximately one hundred meters, amid heavy gunfire and land-clearing operations, before withdrawing hours later, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.
The sources indicated that the area witnessed during the past days an expansion of the areas under the control of the occupation, through the transfer of the concrete blocks that define what is known as the “yellow line” towards the west, which is the line that was determined by the ceasefire understandings to separate the areas from which the occupation withdrew and those that its forces still control.
According to Israeli officials, the area of land controlled by the occupation inside the Gaza Strip has increased from about 53 percent to 70 percent since the ceasefire agreement was signed.
The Ministry of Health confirms that the Israeli aggression, which began on October 8, 2023, resulted in the martyrdom of 73,293 Palestinians and the injury of 173,906 others, in addition to the destruction of about 90 percent of the infrastructure in the sector.
According to the ministry, Israel continues to prevent the entry of agreed-upon quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials, and prefabricated homes, exacerbating the suffering of approximately 2.4 million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, including 1.5 million displaced persons.
The United Nations estimates that the cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip is about $70 billion, while the International Criminal Court continues to pursue Israeli officials on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity,while the International Court of Justice is considering a case accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in the Strip.
