All eyes are on AT&T Stadium in Dallas, which will host the 2026 World Cup semi-final between France and Spain, a match that brings together two teams that reached the semi-finals in two different styles.

Acording to FIFA's player performance rankings, the French team enters the match armed with the best attacking line and the most prominent playmakers in the tournament, while the Spanish team relies on a defensive system that is the strongest so far, in an anticipated clash between attacking power and defensive discipline.

Kylian Mbappe continues to lead the rankings of the best strikers in the tournament after scoring 8.97 points, strengthening his position thanks to his goal and assist against Morocco in the quarter-finals.

His teammates also continued to shine, with Ousmane Dembele moving up to sixth place after scoring against the "Atlas Lions," while Desiree Doué made a significant jump in the rankings, reflecting the great diversity of attacking solutions available to the French national team.

As for the Spanish national team, it relies more on collective performance than individual brilliance, with Lamine Djamel, Mikel Oyarzabal and Fabian Ruiz all playing influential roles in reaching the semi-finals.

The French national team also made its presence felt in the playmakers rankings, after Michael Allos maintained his lead with a rating of 8.30, thanks to his contributions in building attacks and breaking through the opponents' lines, despite not scoring or creating any goals against Morocco.

Mbappe also appears among the elite playmakers, while Spain represents a creative force led by Lamine Djamel, along with Alex Baena and Dani Olmo, who continued to deliver outstanding performances during the knockout stages.

In contrast, Spain dominated the defensive rankings, with Rodri topping the list of best defenders after his outstanding performances in the tournament.

The Spanish superiority is not limited to Rodri, as the list of the top five defenders also includes Pedro Porro and Aymeric Laporte, in a clear reflection of the strength of the defensive system on which the national team, led by Luis de la Fuente, relies.

Despite this, the French team enters the match with a solid defense after keeping a clean sheet against Morocco, with Adrien Rabiot, William Saliba, Jules Koundé and Lucas Digne shining.

Aside from the France-Spain match, the rankings saw a rise in the number of tournament stars, most notably Jude Bellingham, who rose to second place in the strikers' rankings after his outstanding performance against Norway, while Anthony Gordon advanced to second place among playmakers.

Jordan Pickford also topped the goalkeeper rankings in playmaking, while Andreas Schieldrop, Jeremy Doku and Charles de Ketelaere made notable leaps in the rankings, despite their teams being eliminated from the tournament.

It remains to mention the date of the first semi-final match of the 2026 World Cup, between France and Spain, today, Tuesday, at 22:00 Mecca time.
