Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Otto Hasibuan said the successful implementation of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code depends on consistent implementation.
"The reform of the national criminal law represents a major transformation that shifts the paradigm of law enforcement from a punishment-oriented approach to a more humane, restorative, and human rights-respecting system," Otto said in an official statement confirmed.
When he was a resource person at a general stadium at Bandar Lampung University, Lampung, Thursday (16/7), Otto said the success of the two regulations was not only determined by the quality of the norms that had been drafted.
According to him, the reform of national criminal law is built on four main missions, namely decolonization, democratization, consolidation, and adaptation and harmonization.
