The Riau Islands Regional Office of the Ministry of Law stated that the Legal Aid Post in the area is a pilot project of the Legal Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur in providing legal assistance to Indonesian migrant workers.
Head of the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Edison Manik, in Tanjungpinang, Friday, said that the Riau Islands Posbankum was deemed successful in developing an adaptive service model, so that it was trusted to become a national pilot project to provide legal assistance to Indonesian citizens (WNI), especially migrant workers, before and after working in Malaysia.
"This step is expected to strengthen a safe and integrated human resource (HR) development ecosystem in border areas," he said.
According to Edison, Posbankum provides free legal aid services, assistance, and legal counseling for migrant workers before and after working in Malaysia.
