The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the evidence in the form of gold and foreign currency notes handed over to the Attorney General's Office is authentic based on laboratory test results from various official financial authorities.
Head of Public Relations of the Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said the process of verifying the authenticity of the evidence was carried out by involving authorized institutions, both domestic and international, to ensure the validity of the evidence before it was submitted to the Attorney General's Office.
Meanwhile, regarding the evidence in the form of Singapore dollar (SGD) currency, Budi explained that his team is still awaiting official confirmation from the relevant financial authorities. However, in general, the authenticity of all the evidence has been confirmed.
Regarding the involvement of United States federal agencies, namely the FBI and the United States Secret Service, Budi emphasized that this was standard procedure for checking the validity of foreign currency.
"Yes, they are the ones who have the authority to conduct tests related to the United States dollar exchange rate," said Budi.
