Saving electricity at home doesn't have to come at the expense of occupant comfort. Adopting simple habits combined with the use of safe electrical devices and energy-control technology can help people reduce electricity consumption while maintaining home security.
Schneider Electric Indonesia Business Offer Manager Putu Nimita said that efficient electricity use can start from changing daily behavior, then strengthened by the use of technology that allows residents to monitor and control electricity use more practically.
"Saving electricity doesn't always mean sacrificing comfort. Technology now allows people to control lights and electronic devices from their smartphones, so if they forget to turn off an appliance while traveling, they can still control it from anywhere," Nimita said.
According to him, there are at least five simple steps that people can take to reduce electricity consumption at home.
