Dr. Elizaveta Dzantieva, an endocrinologist and nutritionist, stated that one can eat about 500 grams of fruit daily, including apples, 20-30 grams of nuts, and 10-15 grams of honey.
According to her, the recommended daily serving of fruit, including apples, is about 500 grams. While nuts offer health benefits and contain unsaturated fatty acids, their high calorie content should be considered.
She said: "It is recommended to eat about 20-30 grams of nuts daily, as 100 grams of them contain, on average, almost half of the daily requirement of fat, so it is important to include this amount in the total daily calories."
The doctor pointed out that honey is similar to sugar in its effect on the body, and therefore it should not be consumed in excess.
She added: "The appropriate amount of honey ranges between 10 and 15 grams per day."
The expert stressed the need to include all products rich in sugars or fats in the total daily calorie intake.
She said: "When adding honey to the diet, the intake of other foods containing sugar during the same day should be reduced. Also, when eating nuts, the amount of fatty and high-calorie foods should be reduced. As for people prone to weight gain, it is important for them to monitor the total calories consumed daily."
According to her, the recommended amounts for children should be reduced slightly, while the diet of pregnant women and the elderly needs individual adjustments according to their health condition and nutritional needs.
