The Russian channel SHOT reported that a mysterious illness struck a Russian tourist while he was on a family vacation in Egypt.
According to reports, a Russian citizen named Mikhail arrived in Hurghada with his wife and children. At one point, he stopped sweating altogether. In Egypt's hot climate, this led to him experiencing near-fainting spells daily, with his pulse sometimes reaching 200 beats per minute. He then began suffering from severe dehydration and intestinal inflammation.
Mikhail is forced to constantly pour water over himself and avoids leaving the house. Due to his deteriorating health, he is no longer able to work.
The family has been living in Egypt for nearly a year, but local doctors have been unable to determine the cause of his condition or provide appropriate treatment. They have spent all their savings, approximately $8,000, on medical tests.
Their Egyptian visas had also expired, and they needed money to pay fines for violating local residency laws, in addition to securing return tickets to Russia.
It is worth noting that the inability to sweat can lead to a dangerous rise in body temperature and heatstroke. Treatment depends on identifying and addressing the underlying cause of the disorder.
