The scientific director of the Russian Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology announced that a new immunotherapy could eliminate a number of cancers within a period of 3 to 6 years.

In comments made to RIA Novosti in response to a question about the possibility of humanity defeating cancer, Professor Alexander Gintsburg, who is also a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, identified the types targeted in these promising results as: melanoma (skin cancer), small cell lung cancer, bladder cancer, and colorectal cancer.
He added that he could not say for sure for all types of cancer at the moment, but expressed confidence that these results could be achieved within the timeframe mentioned with a reasonable degree of certainty.
He explained that this progress is due to the development of an innovative immunotherapy that combines personalized vaccines tailored to each individual patient, and immune checkpoint inhibitors that enhance the immune system's ability to attack cancer cells.
It is worth noting that previous reports indicated that the first patient treated with the experimental Russian vaccine for skin cancer (melanoma) has shown a positive therapeutic response so far
