The Asian Football Confederation , European Football Confederation and the North American, Central American, and Caribbean Football Confederation have sent an open letter to FIFA rejecting the FIFA Forward Enterprise project.
The project was rejected because it planned to sell commercial shares in the World Cup hosting rights to private companies, which was deemed to threaten the integrity and independence of the tournament, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2030.
"Football belongs to the players, the fans, the clubs, the member associations, and every institution entrusted with safeguarding its future. It is in that spirit that, as confederations representing their members, we speak collectively today," the AFC-UEFA-Concacaf letter said on the Concacaf website on Monday.
Although the FFE's plans have been shelved, they believe they are not yet fully resolved. All three confederations have highlighted the integrity of FIFA's leadership under Gianni Infantino.
They consider FIFA's leadership to be a form of devotion to the extended football family without exception.
"When trust is destroyed through deception, when a person places himself above the collective that has given him authority, then that duty of service has been abandoned," the three confederations wrote in the letter.
They believe FIFA is not taking the issue seriously, describing the controversy as a communication issue. FIFA's previous letter acknowledged errors in the process of submitting the plan.
