Trabzonspor are close to finalizing a deal to sign Al-Hilal striker Darwin Nunez, in a move that could reshape the attacking partnership that brought the player together with Egyptian Mohamed Salah during their time together at Liverpool.
Turkish journalist Hasan Tuncel stated that Ibrahim Sahinkaya, the vice president of Trabzonspor, who played a key role in finalizing the Mohamed Salah deal after traveling back and forth to Greece, is doing his utmost to secure the Darwin Nunez deal.
He explained that Shahinkaya will travel to Saudi Arabia to hold talks with Al-Hilal officials and finalize the deal for the Uruguayan player.
This potential deal comes just days after Trabzonspor signed Mohamed Salah, turning attention once again to the duo who played together at Liverpool before Nunez's departure to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2025.
Nunez is 27 years old and has a distinguished career that began with Peñarol of Uruguay, then Almeria of Spain, and Benfica of Portugal, before moving to Liverpool in 2022 and from there to Al-Hilal in a deal worth around 53 million euros, according to reports.
