The "SmackDown" professional wrestling show, which took place early Saturday morning at the "TD Garden" arena in Boston, witnessed new developments of tension and hostility.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes stormed into the wrestling atmosphere after concluding the "SmackDown" show with a public brawl in a new escalation of their renewed conflict.

Cody Rhodes was scheduled to face Sami Zayn in the main event with an exciting stipulation for the match.

Had Sami Zayn won, he would have earned a chance to face the winner of next week’s WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens.

But Zayn didn't get a chance to compete for the number one challenger title after Randy Orton ambushed Cody Rhodes before the match began.

As Zayn made his way to the ring in preparation for the main event match, Orton appeared out of nowhere and began attacking Rhodes. The unplanned brawl quickly moved from the ring to the fan zone inside TD Garden.

When the fight returned to the ringside, Orton positioned Cody Rhodes between the commentary table and the steel steps, preparing to deliver a vicious chair strike.

Rhodes had announced last week that he "no longer had to be the good guy," and standing over Orton holding an iron chair, Rhodes appeared ready to move to a darker side in order to settle his score with Orton. But before he could hit Orton with the chair, security intervened, and the show ended without the confrontation being completed.
