Europa League draw results: Mohamed Salah's team's conquerors clash with an Italian giant

The draw for the league stage of the 2026-2027 UEFA Europa League, held today, Friday, at the Grimaldi resort in Monaco, resulted in a tough group for Hungarian club Ferencváros.

The Europa League league stage features 36 teams, divided into 4 levels, each containing 9 clubs, with each team playing 8 matches against different opponents, two matches from each level.

According to the tournament system, clubs that finish the league stage in the first to eighth places are guaranteed direct qualification to the round of 16, while teams in the ninth to twenty-fourth places enter the play-off stage, in order to decide 8 additional tickets to the round of 16.

The draw placed Ferencváros in a tough second-tier group, which includes Italian football giants Juventus and Milan.

The draw for Ferencváros was as follows: Juventus - Milan - Viktoria Plzeň - Celtic - Celje - Lech Poznań - Tørrensee - Hoffenheim.

It is worth noting that Ferencváros secured their passage to the Europa League stage for the new 2026-2027 season, from Turkish club Trabzonspor, which includes Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, by defeating them 1-0 in the first leg and 4-0 in the second leg.
