German police reported that 23 people were stranded high above the ground for about three hours after a swing ride malfunctioned at the "Summer Dome" exhibition center in Hamburg, northern Germany.
The ride was halted late Tuesday evening due to a technical malfunction, prompting a large-scale intervention by police and fire crews, while attempts were made to get the passengers off and prevent panic among them.
The Bild newspaper reported that the passengers were suspended about 30 meters above the ground.
A police spokesman said the ride was restarted shortly after midnight, and those trapped were able to get off safely without needing help from firefighters.
The game is part of the "Summer Dome" exhibition in Hamburg, which runs until Sunday and is being held for five weeks this year for the first time after previously lasting four weeks.
According to the organizers, more than 1.3 million people visited the exhibition last year.
