The story began after Haaland posted a picture on his Instagram account during his return to Manchester City training, before one of his followers asked him to convey his greetings to Anderson.
The Norwegian striker responded with just one word: "The diver?", referring to the incident that occurred during the Norway-England match in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
During the match, the referee disallowed a goal for Norway after consulting VAR, ruling that Haaland had pushed Andersen inside the penalty area. The Norwegian striker had previously criticized the decision, deeming it "weak".
Haaland's joke became fodder for football fans on social media, especially since Anderson is now his teammate at Manchester City, having joined the club for around £116 million from Newcastle.
