Newspaper reports have revealed exciting details about the wedding of Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentinian model Georgina Rodriguez.
Cristiano and Georgina completed their civil marriage ceremony in a private ceremony, held at 1:30 pm last Tuesday, inside their new luxury mansion located in the Cascais area near the capital, Lisbon, which is worth about £30 million.
According to available information, the ceremony was very private and limited in nature, as it was attended by only 4 witnesses, in addition to the couple’s five children: Cristiano Jr., the twins Eva Maria and Mateo, Alana and Bella.
In a surprising turn of events, neither Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, nor his three siblings, Hugo, Elma, and Katia, were among those present, although his mother rushed to congratulate the union shortly after the ceremony by posting a heart emoji on her son’s Instagram post as a comment on the wedding announcement.
The marriage ceremony was officiated by the authorized marriage officer, Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira, who traveled specifically from the city of Porto in northern Portugal to Cascais for this purpose.
The four witnesses are: Georgina's sister Ivana, Cristiano's close friend Miguel Paixão, as well as the Spanish couple Jose Rodriguez Sanjel, described by the Portuguese press as a jeweler, and his wife Monica Goncalise Martinez.

Regarding the legal details, a copy of the marriage certificate published by the Portuguese newspaper "Jornal de Notícias" revealed that the ceremony took place inside Ronaldo's vast mansion, which was built from scratch in the upscale residential area of "Quinta da Marina" in Cascai
The testimony also showed that the number of invitees was so small that his mother and siblings did not have a place on the list, confirming the extremely intimate nature of the ceremony.
The marriage certificate included Cristiano's full name and age (41), along with his place of birth and the names of his parents, including his late father, José Dinis. The same details were recorded for Georgina, 32, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and listed under her full name, "Georgina Luisa Rodríguez Hernández."
Interestingly, the couple decided to keep their maiden names, contrary to the custom in the United Kingdom where women usually take their husbands’ surnames after marriage.
From an administrative standpoint, the marriage certificate was registered under number 1,493 for this year, but it was listed in the civil registry office in the city of Porto instead of Cascais, where the ceremony was held, which is a remarkable procedure.
It is worth noting that Cristiano Ronaldo's representatives had confirmed the news of the marriage earlier this week, after the couple posted pictures of themselves wearing wedding rings on their Instagram accounts, putting an end to speculations that the ceremony might be held in Funchal Cathedral on his home island of Madeira, which proved to be incorrect.
A few days after the wedding, Cristiano and Georgina returned to Saudi Arabia, where the Portuguese player continues his football career with Al-Nasr club, in preparation for the start of the new football season scheduled for next Saturday.
