Indonesian Game Association Chairman Shafiq Husein said that Indonesian Game Day 2026 is a momentum to celebrate the growth of local games and the creators who develop them.
"Without them, the game would never have existed. So let's appreciate not just the game , let's appreciate the people who made it," said Shafiq at the HARGAI 2026 event.
Shafiq said that the celebration of National Game Day is inseparable from the aspirations of game creators, including developers, character designers, game designers, and publishers, as well as the community to make games made by Indonesian children a host in their own country.
Since 2016, local game developers have emerged and grown, bringing studios to produce many Indonesian game projects.
Shafiq said that every game published and played by players is part of the foundation of the growth of the Indonesian gaming industry.
"It's all part of the same journey. A journey to prove that Indonesia is not just a country that plays games, but also a country that makes games ," he said.
