Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen and her partner Katarzyna Piter from Poland were knocked out in the round of 32 of the women's doubles event at the 2026 Cincinnati Open.
Janice/Katarzyna lost to Chinese pair Zhang Shuai and Jiang Xinyu 5-7, 7-6, 7-10 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes, according to the WTA.
Janice/Piter actually put up a strong fight. They lost the first set 5-7, but rallied in the second set and forced the match into a tie-break after winning 7-6.
In the tie-break match , Janice/Piter again had to admit Zhang/Jiang's superiority with a score of 7-10. This result also ended their journey at the Cincinnati Open 2026.
Based on match statistics, Janice/Piter recorded 73 total points, while Zhang/Jiang collected 86 points.
The Chinese pair was also more effective in utilizing break point opportunities by converting six of 11 opportunities, while Janice/Piter utilized five of six opportunities.
From the serve, Janice/Piter recorded 78 percent of first serves entered and won 52 percent of points from the first serve. Zhang/Jiang recorded 71 percent of first serves entered with 67 percent of points from the first serve.
Janice/Piter also made three double faults , fewer than Zhang/Jiang's six. However, the Chinese pair's superiority in overall points earned them able to secure the victory.
The defeat meant that Janice Tjen and Katarzyna Piter's journey in the women's doubles event at the Cincinnati Open 2026 had to end in the round of 32.
