Indonesian women's singles player Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan is enthusiastically awaiting her match against South Korean representative An Se Young in the second round of the 2026 BWF World Championships.
Thalita made her first step by defeating Peruvian representative Ines Lucia Castillo in two straight games 22-20, 21-7 in the round of 64 in New Delhi, India, on Monday.
"In the next round, I'll face An Se Young. I'm happy to finally be on the same court as her, so I'll try to play my best," Thalita said in an official PBSI statement after the match.
The meeting was an opportunity for Thalita to test her abilities on the World Championship stage after being able to pass her first match.
Facing Castillo, Thalita faced stiff resistance in the first game before securing a 22-20 victory.
