Klok emphasized that the national team will learn from the failure in the AFF Cup

Indonesian national team midfielder Marc Klok stated that the Garuda will learn from their failure in the 2026 AFF Cup after failing to reach the semifinals due to a 1-1 draw against Singapore.

"We learned from this experience. Embrace the pain. Ignore the noise out there. Get back to work. Keep your heads up. Then come back with a bigger hunger than ever. It's that simple," Klok said.

Indonesia failed to reach the AFF Cup semifinals for the second consecutive time after finishing third in the final group standings.

Indonesia has failed to win the AFF Cup for the umpteenth time since the tournament was first held 30 years ago in Singapore.

The Garuda team's best achievement was being runner-up six times, with the last one occurring in 2020 during the Shin Tae-yong era.

"It hurts. It really hurts. We're out. And once again, we failed to lift the trophy," said Klok.
