Maxim said the implementation of a maximum app commission of 8 percent has had a positive impact on online motorcycle taxi driver partners by increasing the portion of income received from each trip ordered.
"From the various inputs we received, driver partners felt an increase in income after the implementation of the 8 percent app commission," said Maxim Indonesia Development Director Dirhamsyah in a statement.
Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Online Transportation Workers now regulates that the portion of income for online motorcycle taxi drivers has increased to 92 percent, with app providers receiving a maximum share of 8 percent.
Dirhamsyah added that the implementation of a 92:8 commission profit sharing ratio also makes the distribution of revenue between app providers and driver partners more balanced while still prioritizing the sustainability of the online transportation service ecosystem.
