Wydad Casablanca has resorted to using its old stars to rebuild the team's ranks with new signings during the current summer transfer window in preparation for the new season, hoping to restore its prestige locally and continentally.
Wydad Club announced on Monday the signing of its two former stars, left-back Yahya Attiat-Allah, and midfielder Yahya Jabrane, who previously wore the team's captain's armband.
A day earlier, Wydad also announced the signing of midfielder Ayman Hassouni.
The Moroccan club has tied the trio to contracts that extend for only one season with the possibility of extending for an additional season, stressing that it is counting heavily on them to transfer their experience to the rest of the team's players.
Attia Allah (31 years old) left Wydad in the winter of 2024 to move to Sochi in Russia, and after a few months he moved to Al-Ahly of Egypt on loan for one season before being released in the summer of 2025 to return again to the Russian club.
As for Jabrane (35 years old), who is skilled in performing the duties of a midfielder and a center-back, he left Wydad in the summer of 2024 for Kuwait SC, and then moved between Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya and Ajman of the UAE in the past two years.
Before them, Ayman Al-Hassouni (31 years old) left Wydad's fortress in the summer of 2023 to move between the Qatari club Al-Mu'aidar, the Emirati club Ajman, and the Libyan club Al-Suwaihli.
The trio of Yahya Attiat-Allah, Ayman El Hassouni and Yahya Jabrane contributed to Wydad's crowning as African Champions League winners in 2022 at the expense of Al Ahly of Egypt.
The club's management hopes to benefit from the trio's experience to overcome the team's setback last season, as it finished fifth in the league and missed out on participating in the most important continental club tournament, the African Champions League.
